Nancy L. Zenz

Nancy L. Zenz of Grass Lake, age 74 went to be with the Lord in the loving hands of her husband of 55 years February 21, 2012. She was born January 7, 1938, the daughter of Eugene and Lucy (Hicks) Baum. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Phyllis Cockroft; father-in-law, Richard Zenz and grandson, Jared Zenz. Nancy is survived by her husband, Robert; sons, Richard (Linda), Robert "Jim" (Cathy) and Thomas (Susie) Zenz; grandchildren, Zachary (Megan) Zenz, Marianne (John) Walter, Jacob Zenz and friend, Breann, Megan (Jimmy) Videto, Jaclene and Jorge Zenz, Danny and Kyle Hammond; mother-in-law, Geraldine (Kenneth) Mack; sister, Patricia (David) Dack; brother-in-law, Delbert Crockroft; several nieces and nephews; honorary son, Chet (Karen) Powaga; special friends, Bing Lockwood, Janet Day and family. Nancy lived her life for her husband, children and grandchildren. She was the heart and soul of Bona-Z-Farms and co-owner and manager of Grass Lake Elevator. She was a bus driver at Grass Lake Community Schools for 13 years. Nancy was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ of Grass Lake. Nancy will be remembered for her generosity and strong faith and will be dearly missed. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-9 P.M. at Sherwood Funeral Home, Grass Lake. A celebration of her life will be held at 1 P.M. Friday with visitation from 12 until the time of service February 24, 2012 at the Tabernacle at FAHOLA Conference Center, 3000 Mt. Hope Road, Grass Lake with Rev. David Cornwell officiating. Per Nancy's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family burial will take place at a later date.
