Charles “Bud” Winters of Grass Lake, age 77, went to be with the Lord June 26, 2012. He was born March 13, 1935 in Grass Lake, the son of Charles and Leah (Horton) Winters. Bud is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Janet; children, Cheryl (Scott) Taylor, Ken (Cathy) Winters and Mary (Mark) Nelson; grandchildren, Jeremy, Michael, Stephen, Charlie, Chelsea, Nicholas, Douglas and Elizabeth; great grandson, Logan; brother, Leon (Debbie) Winters and sister, Sarah White. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Charlene Barber, Caroleen Flanders and Margaret Winters. Bud spent his entire life in Grass Lake. He was a farmer by heart and was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He will be remembered for his loyal gentle spirit and sense of humor. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Sherwood Funeral Home, Grass Lake. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Federated Church of Grass Lake with Rev. Chuck McNeil officiating.
