Edward William Freundl, age 51, of Jackson passed away February 5, 2013 after courageously facing the challenges of a long term illness. Ed is survived by his devoted wife, Patty; parents, Frank and Mary Freundl; sisters, Kathleen (Carl) Shelton, Carol (Barry) Hintz, Diane (Steve) Wolcott and Patricia Freundl; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Large and friend, Albert Callahan; nieces and nephews, Carrie, Valerie and Blake (Delaney) Hintz, Paul, Patrick and Ellie Wolcott and Adrien Freundl; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Ed was a 1984 graduate of Michigan State University. He was an accomplished journalist who wrote for various local newspapers and received numerous awards for his writing. He was an avid gardener known for his blue ribbon garlic and he loved to cook. Ed enjoyed classical music, old movies, crossword puzzles and spending time with his loving companion Daisy. He was a member of the Michigan Center Lions Club. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Sherwood Funeral Home, Grass Lake with Fr. James Shaver officiating. Interment Roseland Memorial Gardens.
