Carol Marie Smith, of Napoleon, age 67, passed away February 12, 2013 at the University of Michigan Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 15, 1945, the daughter of George Russ and Omadelle Stover. Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband of 27 years, Tom and her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Daphne (Terry Osmun) Smith; sons, Daniel and Michael Smith; granddaughter, Kelly Smith; siblings, David (Carol) Binschus, Sharon (Bob) Evans, Debbie (Tim) DeGrazio, Diana Stover, Pam Wirpio, Gina (Paul) Lammers, Bob Russ, Joyce Jewell, Janice (Ken) Lally and Leola (Penny) Brewer; several nieces and nephews. Carol retired from JCC as a college instructor for many years. Carol will be remembered for her love of animals, her great sense of humor and her assistance to 27 foster children. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 911 Napoleon Rd., Michigan Center, MI. with Fr. Fortunato Turati officiating.
